[科幻動畫]7-seed二季(1-12完)看後感(下)

花的過去終於開估了。我想說我有點羨慕她有那樣的父母。如果孩子是個天生的冒險家,正確的培養方法就是教會各種探險知識、安全意識和生存技巧,而不是關他在房子裡只能做考試會考的題目。每個人性格不同,幸福的生活模式會有所出入,強加自己認為是幸福的一套只會造成不幸。花和馬群的尋水旅程我看得很爽,而最後早餐吃肉的那一段簡直就是T*B的劇情公式。人類社會的其中一個公式就是人類某些個體非常友善和好相處,能夠輕鬆取得信任,然後另外一些個體就專門對「無防人之心」的下手。

人類社會一直以來就是這樣不斷壯大的——「人類社會」有如花那一段「一個人大冒險」的劇情裡「水源上的肉食植物」的情景互相輝映。

「HMS Fuji的最後一天」這一段的劇情我覺得概念不錯。最後弄停核彈的一如所料是細菌,而令細菌散播開去的,係隊裡最「弱」但被迫在船裡四處跑的夏。

大家一起看日出的那一段劇情我覺得做得不錯。人類是從大自然進化出來的生物,所以大自然裡本來就存在能滿足人類需要的精神食糧,所以反過來說人工化的居住環境會令人容易精神崩潰。但有精英思想的人很難接受這種想法,因為「日出(對他們來說)來是象徵新一天來臨,也就是更多的艱苦測試和過不到就會死的挑戰」,也因此HMS Fuji的慘劇會用各種形式不斷在現實裡發生。

本來精英的命運就是去挑戰普通人「過不到關」的問題,以及在社會裡擔當「負起人命」的責任的角色,所以對他們來說很多東西的聯想都不一樣。

在人工的環境裡,當人們遇上不幸的事情,就只能求助於其他人,然後如果那不是人解決到的問題,就會絕望自殘。對人與大自然的關係,我覺得大部分科幻作者(包括我)都是認同芬蘭教育以及日本神道的那種觀念,本作也不例外。

所以第二季大結局前某位前警官到最後終於想通了,就把山埃丟了。有些做法,是因為人被「社會」困死而衍生出來的解;當社會不存在,這些概念和做法也就沒有原有的意義了。

作為面向主流觀眾的Netflix作品,我覺得作者很努力地用小學生也能看得懂的劇情去演譯這些大學哲學的理念,其實很有勇氣。雖然我超級想知道普通人能看到多少就是了。

[動畫新番]《書蟲下剋上》二期7-8看後感

1. 終於理解到這個系列為什麼會從網文變成動畫還有二期,連一堆外國人都肯看。明明沒有任何討觀眾好的「色情」和「暴力」,甚至連女主角也沒有正常女主有的「外貌加持」,作品畫風還是三十年前的標準。

原來這個系列描繪的東西,係文明進化相關的"missing link"。每一集都是一個"missing link"。

2. 這兩集說的是藝術普及如何能幫基層有才能的孩子向上流。不同生活形態的人之間有隔閡是正常的(生活形態、空間完全不一樣,實際上是不同的品種),但藝術可以打破彼此之間的距離,這方面我感受良多。

藝術其實並沒有「一定是這樣」的形式限制,音樂不一定是彈鋼琴,畫畫不一定是「畫出名作」。

演奏音樂,不論形式制式,都是在表現人對抽象邏輯的理解力,以及即場控制的執行力,換句話說是一種「表現潛力」的遊戲。要是智商和實行力沒去到某個水平,就僅能把別人教你做的東西重做一次出來,旁人一看都知你不理解、不能控制自己在做什麼。所以名校入場劵最近都變成「開始發育不久就要有八級程度」(注意部分不太相信證書,要你即場演奏www所以就算沒考過也沒問題,即係片中出現的正宗的玩法)。

畫面可以把美好的世界表現出來,能感動住在「地獄」裡但心裡有光的基層孩子,這些人嚮往一個美好的世界,他們非常願意為了自己吃飽穿暖之外的事情而努力,是經濟發展的好支柱、社會進步的基石(女主角為了可以專心看書結果去營運孤兒院和工房這個劇情雖然誇張,但記性好有記性好的限制,笑)。另外,對小孩子來說,一筆筆小心把心裡的世界畫出來是很需要耐性的事情,所以不要意外科學家已發現只要看看幼兒畫畫的能力就能測出將來的學能有多高。

3. 最近十年注意到香港教育界使用的課本畫功非常糟糕到有小孩向我投訴,突然明白為什麼當年我在大學(終於沒人會罵我「塗污」課本了)筆記上畫上美形的角色配圖會吸引不少男生(毒男無誤)來搭話。

你希望別人讀到書卻用醜到死的圖畫在課本上,是不想人讀好書嗎?這些出版社安什麼叵心!

是,教育資源通常都不會夠,所以要分。是不是分給有資質、有美好願景的,還是自私自利總之要威要贏的人,就是關鍵的一步。當一個人還是小孩子的時候,藝術可以令他們流露本性,師長就知道這孩子是不是該好好培養。

4. 一個社會制度的贏家如果是對醜惡無動於衷,這個國家一定會變成魔界一樣的地方。香港這些年來教育的確走錯了路,所以有很多有資質有美好願景的孩子都得不到良好的裁培,長大被譏為「廢青」,壓在社會最低層,看到在位者只顧保全自己的地位冷血待人,被迫成為憎恨社會和反對國家的人。我不知道這是不是五千年來的傳統。

如果你說這是「外國」勢力造成,我會說這個「外國」就是中共。小時候還記得因為小學校服設計很美,曾被畫成漫畫素材,結果應該是驚動了某方高層(那時香港鐵定要回歸),強制把校服變成囚衣一樣的設計,引起學生極大不滿。

我覺得那一刻我已經知到了某政權的喜好。留在香港的,都被塑造成醜惡的囚徙,從小已是被認定是「潛在罪犯」。根本不需要任何人煽動仇恨,因為牙印早己種下——對「美」沒有追求的群體應該根本沒留意到問題在哪,就像自閉症病人得罪朋友而不自知那樣——大媽舞都可以集體跳出街不害羞的種族真的天生缺少了點什麼認知能力。

5. 如果有WWIII,香港應該就是引爆點了。所以對於用高價買劏房樓一事,老實說,我不稀罕。短炒三五年就放手(高官的玩法)還好,做工奴供廿年的價值真的沒有,尤其是我這些沒有全包福利、病了兩天即刻被炒的「新時代員工」。

[動畫電影]《天氣之子》看後感

新海誠的特色是畫面會說話。這看起來是一種優點,但不好的一面是,那其實也是一種劇透,尤其是對我這種藝術感受力很強而且長年努力寫故事的人。

大部分人應該都明白被劇透了之後會覺得很沒趣於是沒看的感覺。所以這一套我是理智上「啊,這效果在影院裡看應該很震撼」,感性反應卻連哪間影院有得看都沒查過。

我不知到新海誠或者宮崎駿老大知不知道有這種形式的劇透。之前「發作」過的是宮崎駿的《風起了》。

因為最近很缺眠所以作為藥用看了這一套。新海誠的作品電波和我的發夢電波很接近,可以直接做REM的替代品。看完效果很好,人就好像自然睡醒然後就清醒了。

大家還記得近四十年前宮崎駿有一套《魔女宅急便》嗎?這就是新海誠同邏輯的「版本」。很巧合地兩個故事都是「女主角」在推劇情。這大概是創作者的基本電波吧?因為我也是「男角」比較會有「撃中」率的說。用看來完全不相關的故事去表達「自己」作為創作者的主觀經驗的時候,細節位尤其是感性的着眼點和正常的寫「第三身」故事是完全不一樣的。玩過這招的人只要看到別人做同樣的事,很快就會發現了。

看這類作品的時候絕對是有一種以「創作者」的身分交心的錯覺。但看完就知道為什麼新海誠那些唯美的畫面總有些什麼東西令我覺得超慘的,所以我居然家裡一張他的作品海報也不曾有過,連電腦裡也沒下過他的作品來做牆紙。

想想看音樂界有個名家的味道和這傢伙的氛囲是一樣的——蕭邦。的確,閒時沒事做別播蕭邦給我。之前試過興之所至拿蕭邦的風格認真二創了一下,結果全開沒幾秒就有聽眾突然爆哭結果我手震得要收手,之後都不敢再開那麼大(會觀察效果,差不多就該收歛那樣)了。邏輯這種東西威力就是恐佈。

至於有很多觀眾都在那裡罵劇情怎麼這樣那樣……啊這種發夢一樣的東西認真才是有病。

[SK]HAO and Yoh's Birthday

To fans of "Shaman King", today is the day we all remember the great work of Takei's and reflect upon the years of indulgence in his spirited spiritual world.

It's been more than 20 years since I met what would become "the story which changed my life".

I have met stories that have imprinted themselves upon my soul since very young age. To name a few known to the greater world that speaks English, the "Black Jack" series by Takei's idol, Tezuka in my early teenage years and "Slayers" (anime) just before I met "Shaman King".

I have always been an "author", born with a soul that naturally fights whatever that comes into my way. Not that I enjoy fighting in any sense, but I have a very strong sense of aesthetics since that start of my memory and I cannot understand a way of living without the ART, and the sciences to bring reality closer to what would be less excruciating for me. Story where the author fights seriously with grim situations (especially with no known solution) placed upon the characters are always my favourite type. Superficial topic or the type of background(fantasy, history, reality) doesn't really matter. It is no wonder that I got myself addicted to solving maths problem without being instructed by the textbook/teacher during my lower secondary school years. Getting into the middle of someone else's trouble is not an acceptable behavior for teenagers in reality, nor getting oneself into real trouble.

I can thus strongly relate to both of the Asakura twins, and sincerely enjoy the intimate relationship between Anna and Yoh, albeit I am never a fan of childhood romatic bonds. For me, who's trained in the neuroscience, I truly appreciate and can feel that a man is not a man before 25 -- the human brain is immature and lacking in its most distinguished compartment before this age and one's character is incomplete without that (unless you take to the animal sides of the human potential, that is).

In a way, my birthday doesn't feel all that real, compared to the twins', which is celebrated by SK fans all around the world (supposedly there are nearly a million or so just in Japan, estimated from the sales figures).

HAO and Yoh are similar minds with different memories and experiences and they fight according to the opposing aesthetics born from what makes them very different. The extreme choices made by them demonstrate the possibilities that open up if people are given a different upbringing. HAO, with all the disheartening things happening to him since generations before, fights to build a new world where he can be happy; in most other people's eyes, what he is doing is just what he has repeatedly told them "to give an end to the human beings". Yoh, born into an affluent and privileged family where he can cozily shut himself up in a small world consisting of what he likes, learns, to his great embarrassment, that there are actually people he deeply cares for and are willing to fight for, and quietly admits that his potential to put up a great fight is what has been seperating him psychologically from the others.

It is exactly because "things can be changed such that the results can have a huge difference" that fighting is worth all the pain and trouble.

To me, and perhaps a lot of SK fans around the world, Jump killed the series and made the "official" ending(s) somehow like what happened to Jesus after the crucifixion. There is an ending in each and every one of us who believe in the spirit of the story the Takei team had painfully tried to bring forth to us and we are grateful for being able to meet with HAO&Yoh through SK.

[anime]Rich Inspector -- Balance Unlimited Ep1-2 review

I didn't want to watch this because I have absolutely no expectation of how a plot about how cases could be solved with a huge amount of money could be surprising to me.

I accidentally stumbled onto the episodes on YouTube and I couldn't pull my eyes off the handsome characters. I live in a downtown area where the guys are either old or look miserable, and work in places where guys never have the confident and austere body language a model policeman should have.

Yup, it's as simple as that. It certainly testifies how well the artwork is, and that the character design has worked as it should have been.

Looking at the credits reveals that many top anime companies had worked hard on the art, producing such excellent fruits of computer-aided anime technology.

The story is as vulgar in the logic as any AV could have been. Well, vulgarity is NEVER about how much sex organs are exposed, but the explicitness of things people should be modest about. This is why biological illustrations of sex organs and details of reproduction can be shown to minors, but not AVs.

I have to emphasize that I am not saying that the story itself is rubbish -- if the audience can be made into reflecting on the value of money and how money should be used in a society, vulgarity is totally a justified tool in this case.

[跟番]本季入選動畫

上季因為實在太忙,有數個作品看了兩三集因為時間關係都被腰砍,或者在精神太差的時候看,結果沒能出評,所以今季打算精挑細選。

除了《書蟲為做司書向上流》第二季以及《黑色五葉草》肯定會看下去之外,《白貓》肯定上榜——這個遊戲因為故事設定其實想玩很久,但是因為沒能安排時間所以一直在等動畫(如同梅可露那樣),然後接手的居然是很擅長挑「名場面」來做的「阿九」製作,那就更加要看了。

最後入榜的是"Listeners"。故事和設定都不算特別吸引(像是幾個不同的經典重組的炒冷飯作品),但是看過《Dororo》的,都不會忘記MAPPA那種繼承了BONES對動作氣勢的認真渲染以及與之匹配的劇情——那種動畫技術的精湛令人一看難忘。和BONES近年不斷接的山崩地裂的大型場面不斷研究「如何放大絕」的電腦協作場景處理相反,MAPPA比較像是當年BONES的"Soul Eater"那種把人物性格的精華在老老實實的每個一跳一跑一揮刀的動作裡表現出來——有了近年輸出力大大提升的電腦計算功能幫忙,反而更能專心地發掘「演技」。這可是我看中動畫這種媒介的「初心」——我是從小相信挑任一方面也好,人工智能或者電腦模型最終會比任何在世的「真人」個體更厲害,包括種種人類自認是「定義」是人非人的能力,例如「(非語言的)表現力」。

無他,我們再努力,最多也是九十年的功力(之後身體一定到極限啦),中間扣起很多吃喝拉睡考試賺錢養家等等和「比賽項目」「不相關」的事情,電腦只要運算功能夠強,教材只要夠營養,四、五十年間一定可以達到眾人公認「無人能及」的境界。

如果給我陰謀論ZOOM,要是我是他們的首席工程師,比起扣起片段進行「國安」活動,我更有興趣把人類互動的片段分門別科餵給人工智能,然後拿出在各方面(尤其教學、談判、演示、咨詢)都比真人強的人工智能系統。那裡面的營養,可是真貨來的。老實說如果真要我選我才不要做那什麼首席工程師,直接做被餵高質教材的人工智能就好了<-你到底有多大的怨念和慾望OTL……

In/Spectre for real

These days I looked at the "news" and "articles" (including academic ones) and couldn't help thinking of the anime now on air called "In/Spectre" by my fav ACG story writer (ok I guess Kyo would prefer being called a novelist).

As someone who is endowed with the level of intellect which is pure fun for me to deploy my deductive power, I was turned off by so many blatantly fake news, novel disguised as opinion articles and papers which are obviously going to be withdrawn.

I couldn't bring myself to write about them one by one because they are coming in like tsunami.

However, just as how people are engrossed in fantasy could kill like what is depicted in "In/Spectre", psychological phenomena which can kill actually exists in reality.

I can't agree more what Kyo is trying to say in this story as a fellow writer these days that "In/Spectre" is going to be one of those time-withstanding classic for me.

最近假消息如海嘯湧現,已無法逐一吐糟。看清身邊人的水平也不失為一件好事。在這個背景下看《虛構推理》真的額外有感受,令我私下認為這作品將會被視為一套經典文學。

[Anime]Danganronpa 3rd season 1-4

I ran over the synopsis of the setting of this arc and got intensely interested in the story.

I guess it would be somehow like Bungo, which becomes interesting halfway through the plot, enough for me to spend time watching.

"There are more to life other than your talent."
"You get to intereact with people at school."
"Do not fear normalacy."

There are many interesting thesis popping out from the dialogues which I am interested in seeing how they would play off.

There are two types of education style: one that makes sure the students go through destinated processes and the other that makes sure the students get to destinated level of performance.

This story has a teacher who works at a school that adopts the latter style while personally insisting for the former. Now talk about tension.

There are people who are endorsed with talents which change they way they interact and perceive the world. For these people, social interactions can be awkward because they cannot always use empathy to predict the outcomes of their actions, and need much experience (direct and indirect) to understand what the differences in perception and limitations in what people can and cannot do entail. It is not always a good tactics for them to put as much effort into social learning as normal people do, as talents often need much nurture to grow into forms which the society would recognize them as something "useful" and "beneficial". Many people think chasing a career in music is really bad because few succeeded. The truth is the amount of nurture one needs in order to pursure a music career is often way out of what a normal family can afford.

It is therefore not an exceptional case when my mum asked me if "talents" can be cured into normalacy. Not every family has the patience to deal with an exceptional child and the resource to nurture the kid's talent and let it grow into a profitable and socially compatible form.

When an adult carries a talent not recognized by the system he suffers a double blow -- he is pulled out of a circle who truly shares his vision and feelings while his developmental needs are often outside the assumed variations of the normal provisions such that he is poor spiritually and physially.

I am now get all fired up as to how the plot will unfold.

非常有張力的設定令我決定看這套作品。無論是角色和背景之間的對立,還有不同價值觀立場的對比,令我非常期待這套看來和我寫《死神學院》的初心似乎來自同一個原點的故事發展。

[anime]Black Clover 116 review

This is the episode I have been waiting for so long. I fell in love with "Black Clover" basically because I agree so much with what Mr. Tabata is trying to convey:

It is of your own free will to decide whether you would fight for others with all your might.

Expectation, recognition nor demand etc. from others is irrelevant to your choice.

Psychologists might be able to present a long list of excuses with which people make to justify their decision, completed with the respective statistical prevalence, but this fiction has demonstrated beautifully how free will works.

People are funny creatures in the way that we are all sophisticated automatic computing devices. Yuno might arguably be the most normal character in the show despite his great look and tremendous magical power.

The normal reaction against adversity or an unfriendly encounter is to retreive. That was what makes a weak species such as Homo sapiens survive in mother nature. Yuno is perfectly normal in this aspect.

However, what makes an individual survive in the SOCIETY is a completely different thing. "Not giving up" is a powerful magic as Asta has claimed and demonstrated. Being a creative species, "not giving up" means trying out millions of alternatives, which would eventually force people to react to you for instance, and you actually get to harness more than you are given. This has actually been the force behind our progressing civilization. Yuno was inspired by the magic-less Asta to become the "Wizard King" and that was when the story really gets going.

Human beings are very interesting psychologically in the way how people are MORE motivated to acheive when they think they can do better than what they are shown. It is therefore utterly important that those with "little or no talent" are motivated to try as hard as possible just to bring out the true potential of those who are talented.

There is arguably nothing more important than inspiring those born with great potential to serve mankind to use their power for the benefit of the public, and therefore it is more critical than most would consider that those who think they 'cannot change history' try to do their best for the greater good.

中文大要:
這一集我等了很久,基本上也就是我看中了這個作品的那個「亮光點」。「立志幫人」與否是人類擁有的唯一真正的自由意志,這和人們為他們的抉擇所給的理由完全無關。這一集我覺得解說得不錯。Asta的「笨蛋式說教」比起C教的宗教式包裝更簡潔和直接。

[圍爐片]愛書女向上流12-14看後感(下)

最近不少ACG都會把教會這個題材扯進來然後基本上都是「負評」的傾向比較多,這套也不例外。

教會天生就是輸在起跑線,即係你把自已打造成神聖的衍生物,不過成份上就是一堆凡人。即係找一堆路人甲玩香港小姐,收到一堆負評才合理,對吧?

所以對於教會的問題我很少會題及,因為這種設定上的硬傷對我這種設定狂來說根本就不屑一提。

所以一去到教會篇,基本上一開始的代入感就消失了。或者說,根據我的中學同學的評價,我根本沒怎麼嘗試和別人扯上關係;好前輩更直接批評我活在空想世界裡。但作為一個人生裡沒遇上Lutz、Benno,活在生活條件不佳的家裡的傢伙,體質當然只能容許空想,不然是會早早死掉沒錯的。

結論:能帶來社會公義的民主、福利制度是推動經濟競爭力的不二法門。你不能期待卡通片裡總是被畫成肚滿腸肥形象的既得利益者能做得到。不威脅不聽話就打死你已經很好(雖然這是老梗了啦)。

然後我終於明白為什麼神官這角色用上了速水的聲音。因為被這種「美色」苦肉計起來,魔力再暴走理性都會回來,起碼對純真的孩子一定有效……這一點和男人見到美色理智會丟光(都市傳說啦)好像是跑相反的方向。但女人本來的「構造」即便如是。
